adults-soccer.jpgAdults need to be physically active for at 60 minutes every day to stay healthy or improve their health.  Physical activity doesn’t have to be hard and can be accomplished in 10-minute periods throughout the day.
Try to do all three types of physical activity:

1. Endurance (4-7 days a week)
Activities that help your heart, lungs and circulatory system stay healthy and give you more energy such as walking, golfing, cycling and skating.

2. Flexibility (4-7 days a week)
Activities that help you move easily, keeping your muscles relaxed and your joints mobile, such as Tai Chi, yoga, dance and stretching.

3. Strength (2-4 days a week)
Activities that help your muscles and bones stay strong, improve your posture and help prevent diseases like osteoporosis such as yard work, carrying groceries and weight/strength-training.
